CABEC 2019 Brown Bag Webinar Series #1, January 16th, 2019: The Energy Design Rating (EDR) a New Title 24 Compliance Metric for 2019

Presented by: Matthew Christie, TRC Solutions

Date: Wednesday, January 16th, 2019
Time: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
Location: Your computer screen on GoToWebinar!

The 2019 Title 24 Energy Code brings with it a number of exciting and challenging changes – but one often overlooked change is an entirely new way to demonstrate compliance with the code. The new Energy Design Rating (EDR) is a energy use index, similar to RESNET’s HERS index, but based on Title 24’s systems and structures. Get your home’s EDR below the code standard EDR and you’re good to build.

This brown bag dives deep into the basis and formulation of this new metric and how it compares to the familiar, but now eliminated, compliance percent. We also discuss how the EDR handles California’s new solar mandate and home battery credit. Everything you need to know to understand this new means of judging residential Title 24 energy code compliance.

Note: This presentation is Free for CABEC Members and $10 for non-Members. Live Brown Bag Webinars attendance is free to all, but live attendance is limited to the first 100 arrivals, so register early and be on time!
