CABEC recently held its first ever Residential Energy Modeling Competition, open to all students currently enrolled in a college or university in California. Each participant was given a set of plans, specification and guidelines to create an energy model using any of the California Energy Commission (CEC) approved compliance software tools. Participants were scored based on their ability to accurately and quickly model a simple single family residential new construction project, and results were scored based on modeling accuracy and time.
The winners of the competition are:
First place: Mia Sheperd, Cal Poly State University
(Awarded complimentary Conference Registration, free accommodations at the Resort at Squaw Creek, free one year EnergyPro Subscription and $75 cash)
Second place: Aaron Feinstein, Cal Poly State University
