CABEC Associate

$150

CABEC Standard Membership is intended for anyone in energy consulting, or any field that does business with energy consultants, but is not, and does not plan to be, a Certified Energ Analyst (CEA). Standard Members receive most of the same benefits as Professional Members (significant Conference & webinar discounts, Member profile listing, Newsletter & more), but pay less because CABEC Standard Membership does not include discounts on all CEA-related expenses (Exams, Maintenance Fees, Re-Certifications).

Student

$25

CABEC welcomes students who are interested in the field of energy analysis to come explore and learn with us! The one requirement besides being a current student is that you may NOT be employed professionally by a current or potential CABEC Member -- if you are, you'll need to maintain your Membership through an Organization, or sign up for the individual Standard or Professional level.

Membership for Students is heavily discounted, but includes all the same benefits as the CABEC Standard Membership level. Please make sure you use your .edu email address to sign up, or we may contact you to verify your eligibility. Thanks!

* CABEC Professional Members save $100 on each Re-Cert exam and $150 on each New exam for both Res and Nonres, for up to $300 in exam discounts per year. After the first year of certification, those who are not CABEC Professional Members pay Maintenance Fees of $250 per cert (both Res and Nonres). To discuss your options, contact CABEC staff by email or voicemail at (760) 537-0009.

Membership benefits include:

  • CABEC Logo: Members may use the CABEC logo on their website and marketing materials. Certain restrictions apply.
  • Member Only Resources: Industry informational announcements, free webinars and presentations, industry articles, useful links and other Title 24, Part 6 information.
  • Quarterly Newsletter: Sent to members on a quarterly basis, the newsletter provides timely information about California T24, Part 6 and related building energy efficiency topics.
  • Advocacy Efforts: CABEC staff and our Board of Directors work consistently with industry partners to promote energy efficiency and compliance with the energy code. We represent CABEC members before the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and other stakeholders.

We have updated, simplified, and automated our Membership renewal process:

    • Expiration dates have moved to a “first day of the next month, the next year after signup or renewal” policy, so if you are a current Member, and renew your Membership more than a month early, we may need to manually adjust your account’s expiration date to reflect the extra months. If this occurs, or if you want help renewing, or have any questions whatsoever, just let us know and we’ll be happy to assist!

    • Basic invoices are automatically created (and printable) following any Member or Organization checkout by credit card or check, but if you need one ahead of time, just send us a note and we’ll be happy to send one the same way we have in previous years!

Group Membership Blocks

CABEC has moved to a membership structure which allows groups to maintain branded accounts and profiles for all types of companies, non-profits, utilities, municipal building departments and other organizations surrounding the energy consulting industry.

Please review the extra Membership benefits and logistical details below, and proceed to checkout when you’re ready.

Extra benefits for your organization:

  • Top menu link to company website with name (of 1 word or initials).
  • Company logo with website link highlighted on the CABEC website in a rotating display in page sidebars.
  • Description of the group and their product or service along with a clickable link to the company website on the Supporters page.
  • A spotlight opportunity in the CABEC Quarterly Newsletter (on request).
  • A chance to speak to CABEC members, using a webinar platform, to inform or educate them regarding the company product and/or service as it relates to the T24 Energy industry.
  • Ask us about a discounted exhibit table at the CABEC Conference!

How it works:

  • CABEC Group Memberships are paid for once per year as blocks of individual Professional Memberships, priced at an average discount that increases with the numbers of maximum Memberships selected. Payment and renewals are handled via the organization’s central login, usually by an administrator or bookkeeper at the organization.
  • All individual Memberships paid for as part of an organization’s CABEC Group Membership are full Professional Members, individually eligible for the maximum discounts CABEC offers.
  • If you already have a personal account on CABEC’s new (or old) website, don’t log in prior to checking out here. Most organizations will need to create a new account during checkout, using the organization name as the Username (no spaces), and First/Last Name + E-mail for the organization’s administrative/billing contact.
  • After checkout, you will be given a link with discount code for distribution to all desired Members, good for the below number of CABEC Professional Memberships (normally $300/year for individual CABEC Professional Members).
  • Each person will need use that link to log into (or create) their CABEC Account and use the discount code given to them to claim their Membership.
  • Each Professional Member who checks out using an Organization’s discount code will not show an expiration date in their own profile, but the organization’s profile and account dashboard will maintain all account information, including basic invoices.
  • Organization administrators will find links to these resources in the right sidebar when logged in after checking out and creating an account.
