2019 has been a big year for the California Energy Code! As you are all aware, the 2019 Standards in Energy Code has been released and will go into effect January 1, 2020. The 2019 CEA Exams will also be launched at the end of the first quarter of 2020 at the CABEC Conference.
Another big change has taken place at CABEC for CEAs who are CABEC Professional Members: you no longer have to pay for CEA Maintenance Fees! No more confusion between maintenance fees and membership renewals; as long as you:
- are an Active CEA,
- a current CABEC Professional Member in good standing, and
- you’ve taken and submitted 9 Title 24 CEUs each year (including 2019)
…then you do not need to pay CEA Maintenance Fees any longer!
If you are not currently an active CABEC Professional Member

Can’t commit to being a CABEC Professional Member yet? If you are an active 2013 or 2016 CEA first certified before 2019, but not an active CABEC Professional Member, your yearly CEA maintenance fees of $250 per CEA certification are due by January 31, 2020.
